A few months back, we had to replace a bulb in our Master Bathroom recessed lighting over the bathtub (we're in a Fitz). The glass cover that goes over the bulb fell and shattered into a MILLION pieces (no exaggeration - I was picking up glass for WEEKS). Home Depot does not seem to carry what we need to replace that glass cover that fits into the metal/plastic circular piece to go over the bulb. Does ANYONE know how we can find one of these or who to contact to get this info?
    THANK YOU!
    :) :) :)

The first thing I would do is see if I could find the manufacturer name and model number for the light. You might find this info on a sticker on the guts of the light somewhere. Or, you might get just the manufacturer's name, then start checking websites to see if you can match a picture to a model number.

With that info, I would contact lighting stores, websites, and the manufacturer to see if they offered a replacement glass part or a whole new light unit. If it's completely discontinued and no longer available through second-hand channels, I'd just replace the whole thing. Does that light match others in the room or house? That might factor into your decision if you have to replace it.

Check with one of the lighting supply stores in the area maybe? That carry a wider range such as Sterling Electric, etc.

If you establish the brand, you could also check Loewes.

Call Van Metre Customer Service and give them your lot number. Then they can give you the company that did the install. I have plastic covers over my recessed and one broke - had a new one in a couple days.
