Beef O'Brady's?

Anyone try the "family sports bar" over in the plaza where the shell gas station is yet?

 

If it counts for anything, Lurch from the Sports Junkies said this week on the radio that he took his family there and had a good time.

 

my husband and son went and said it was horrible- food stunk, service was lousy, when my husband asked for silverware, the waiter said "yeah- it'll be a minute I need to go wash some..." my husband described the cheese dip as generic velveeta and the soup tasted like dirty dishwater. he also said the decor was cheap and poorly done.

that's just one man's opinion though...

 

indeed. food was lousy...like standard Sysco foodservice stuff.. service was OK, nothing special.

 

I think I read something that the franchisee has never owned a restaurant before ... definitely explains a few things!

If you want to make it in that biz, you need more than alot of TVs and a sports theme, you need to have good food at good prices.

A few cases in point ... Mediterranian Breeze, Buffalo Wing Factory, Ashburn Cafe.

 

Mediocre Food, Terrible Service, Seems like a real construction worker type of place. We went there for lunch and not a single woman in there.

 

Which reminds me.... I have noticed that Sports Clips has not been open in a while.

 

We have one of these in Knoxville, I've never been but some folks I know call it Barf O'Brady's.

 

This tells you something, I didn't even know there was such a place. Where is (was?) it located ??

 

It is in between the Safeway and San Vito's

 

You're kidding ... !! What did it sell ?? Probably nothing I was interested in ..

 

they only had one barber that we trusted with our son and he ALWAYS had customers! We often saw people waiting for him while other stylists sat with no business. too bad it's gone- my son liked it there. if anyone knows where Ron (tall black stylist with shaved head) went, please pass the info my way!

 

Not surprising that sport clips is closed. they had really bad service and the wait time was horrible. There may have been 4 or 5 people waiting and only 1 person cutting hair. The wait was almost an Hour. A few doors down, 10 minutes tops.

I never want to hear another complaint or threat about thread hijacking. If a thread on beef can turn into a thread on haircuts, anything is possible and accepted.:naanaa:

 

Oh bull ... we were talking about how a place needs to have more than a sports theme to get business, and someone brought up Sports Clips, whatever that was. While slightly off topic, its not totally a hijacking, which would happen if some one decided to talk about a hospital here.

We went there a few nights ago and thought it was good. The food is basic, nothing fancy. The menu is quite similar to Buffalo Wing, but with fewer choices, for example they have four flavors of wings compared to 20 or so at Buffalo Wing. The "decor" is basic chairs and tables and TVs. However, the prices are low, which makes it a reasonable deal.

We'll go there again when we just need a quick meal. I put it in the same category as Manhattan Pizza: reasonable food, reasonable prices, nothing fancy.

Yeah, sports related only... You know we could use a few more sports medicine doctors in this area. Hey, if the HOSPITAL gets approved, we may have more!!! (Sorry Neil, couldn't resist!)

 

And you could talk to those sports medicine doctors while having a nice juicy burger in the hospital cafeteria!
