My prices have seemed incorrect for some time now for delivery on pizzas, so last night I asked him to break it down for me, and he added a dollar for delivery charge. I explained the menu clearly states that delivery is free, and obviously we tip the driver on top of that anyway. He kept repeating they add a dollar, and I reiterated the free delivery on the menu until he took it off and charged me correctly. Just beware, mention this free delivery when you get your price quotes over the phone, they are tacking on another dollar for no reason... pretty shady...

Yep, they do it to us, too. In fact, last week they tried adding $1 a pizza! I had to call to get my money back!

Let me get this straight. Because your menu says "Free Delivery," they can't change their business policy and begin charging you for delivery? Are you also locked-in on prices so that they can never charge you more for pizza?

If your menu isn't correct.... FIX IT

If your flyer menus mailed around are out of date.. notify the customer of that when they ask.

Don't argue 'yes it does' 'no it doesn't'. I bet if the person explained the prices have changed, that would be a different story behind this post.

The problem is the prices have NOT changed, they were just trying to get one over on the consumer that doesn't check pricing. My menu was literally a week old, and the same exact menu they are still giving out now. It's false advertising, and it's just not good business. Charging to deliver a mile or two away when we tip the drivers anyway... !

If you're quibbling over a dollar and you only live a mile or two away, why not go pick it up yourself and save the dollar delivery charge AND the tip?

With the high cost of gas today, I would gladly pay a dollar sur-charge (Known or unknown) for delivery. I do agree that the consumer should know they are adding a dollar, but I'd bet it is due to the high cost of gas. I'm hoping that this goes into the delivery persons pocket, not the restaurants.

You realize that cost of the gas to get you there and back would be significantly less than the dollar delivery charge + a two/three dollar tip, don't you?

Listen Brim, A little tired of your comments here. As you've previously posted, you appreciate when people do things themselves instead of hiring housekeepers and such. So for your information, I was at home by myself because my husband was working, cleaning my house and taking care of a sick infant... and could not pick it up myself. Why don't you keep your comments to yourself and stop picking on everyone on the board. Seriously dude... get a life.

I think Brim missed the point. The restaurant has every right to charge for delivery but not if they advertise FREE DELIVERY right in their menu.

I certianly didn't miss the point...I was making an entirely different point, re:

Taking into account the size of Broadlands, the restaurants that offer delivery to said area, and the fact that nobody here drives an M1 Abrams Tank...there is abosloutely no scenario that would put the cost of the gas required to go get it yourself above a $1 charge + $2 tip. The gas argument is moot...the convenience argument isn't.

Ooof! I'd like to note that I don't 'pick on' people...I merely address points that seem a bit silly. If you're offended by critisism, I suggest you ignore what I have to say. As for not having a life, I beg to differ. I enjoy a fantastic life, reading these forums is merely a hobby.

I'd also like to point out that I haven't been called 'dude' since the early 90's.

Your point is meaningless to the original post.

They were not complaining about the cost of the delivery.. they were complaining that they are not charging what they advertise.

Its no different then if you pickup a loaf of bread on the shelf that says $1.99 and at the register they charge $2.99

They prices don't match and they should chrage the advertised price and fix their advertised pricing if incorrect.

Your 'point' is meaningless in this conversation. Its about charging advertised pricing, not 'how much does delivery cost'

It was just as meaningless as DAD4's post...or tyger31's post, both of which don't address the false advertising aspect of the original topic but rather the fact it's an added dollar.

Yawn...I have to admit Brim, you are tiresome and whether you intend it or not, come off a bit preachy.

I'd pay an extra dollar to have a pizza delivered by an M1 tank. Especially if Neilz is driving.
