Blue Heron!

Although not nearly as cool as the Hawk! pictures - here is a shot I took at the Nature Center last week.

This blue heron hangs around a lot, and when the water is really low, he goes for all the bugs. Pretty neat.

 

Thanks for posting that! My daughter loved it. Some time ago there used to be a heron that spent a lot of time in the drainage pond on Farmwell - next to the new restaurant plaza with Potbelly, IHOP, Starbucks. She still looks for that heron everytime we drive by there. We'll start watching at the Nature Center for him to come back.

 

There's been one at bullfrog pond lately too ... don't know if it's the same one or not.
