Broadlands Hospital

I am fine with opposition to the hospital as there are many legitimate arguments to oppose it being in Broadlands.

But why do you characterize them as "fools"? It undermines what little credibility you may even have, Lee, and it's unwarranted. Nobody forced anyone to sell them the land, nobody forced anyone to grant them the COPN. They are just doing what any business who has made a serious investment would do.

 

Fools?! Why? Because you don't agree?!?!?

That is just foolish.

 

Gentlemen, if I may interject on Lee's behalf, I beleive that he meant to refer to them as rapscallions, bandits, and buccaneers!

I don't take this group very seriously as they don't pay me, they are not clients, and they are not family and most of them I have never met, although I do like the few here I have met ha ha ha ha ha ha

My read on this is the hospital is scared and has to follow all avenues to the death or end of it.

Some new twists have been added such as an hospital application for the rt fifty area. Also the support for this location has been deteriorating lately. This is a large company that does not have majority support from the last poll and underestimated the whole situation and now they are cramming this thing down our throats because of the time and money spent and it would be too costly and time consuming to halt this insanity so they really have no other recourse if they want to build this hospital.

Also it never seems to come up that one of the major players here that had an vote and powerful position in getting these beds approved. Well she also held a high position with HCA right before she resigned and took this other powerful position with the state in getting this approved. hmmmmmmm I will give you the whole story when I have time and have all the facts right before me.

And yes I am going to have a chat with the residents in the next few weeks on both sides of the greenway so we can get a real clear picture how many are for and against this hospital. ANd yes I yes I will have it in writing which will not be p[osted here but given to the proper people in the proper venues. At least this will be cuurent information not years old crap. Much has changed in our area since this hospital was voted down.

No offense Lee, but if "non-official average Joe Blow" showed up at my door asking questions about a hospital. I would treat you just like a solicitor, because that is what you will be doing, soliciting. Don't forget to get your license.

And if you are truly interested factual details, then ask EVERYONE in the County to get your accurate picture. Because, as YOU have said, it affects the ENTIRE county.

On a personal note, I do not need for you to get me a "real clear picture". Because, just like my neighbors property values, I don't care about your opinion either.

What is the harm in finding out how people who live close to the hospital feel about it?

No harm at all! It's just that Lee would introduce himself, prattle on for 25 minutes about himself, flex, Red Rum Drive, the evils of Baby Bush, himself some more, his famous friends, then denigrate the hospital site for 15 minutes with only a negative view...then ask the homeowner what they think about the proposed hospital.

And we know facts aren't too important to Lee, so it would hardly be scientific.

What is the purpose of the survey anyway? What practical impact would it have? And are we going to have a vote every time a new business comes into the area?

 

Let me claify a bit...

I do not care about my neighbors property values, WITH REGARDS TO THE HOSPITAL.

Because I do not think they will decrease if it is built.

 

Funny. Despite asking several times, no one has come forward with case studies or objective expert opinions showing that the hospital would have an adverse effect on property values.

To the contrary, many have posited (without evidence) that bringing high paying jobs and a valuable service (medical care for kids in a community filled with kids) to our neighborhood could increase property values and help local businesses.

Lee, maybe we should say that YOU don't care about our neighbors' property values, that YOU don't care for neighbors who need medical care and that YOU don't care about providing good jobs for neighbors. But that would be spinning things like you, so we won't say that

 

What do you say when the hospital is built Silence T8 and the property values do drop. Do yo say ooops sorry and go to yourself wow I am lucky I don't live near that hospital and I going to move soon anyway, so who cares. Is that what you say to yourselves in private???????

It is up to the hospital to prove they are not going to hurt anything and the should put up a cash bond in case they do. The burden of proof is on the hospital and it should be backed you in documentation and in money, which should be no big deal if they believe in what they are telling us.


They are the ones changing things here and have the effect to hurt people. Where is their video of the project to show people what the real effect is. Janella farms did a video before they built there huge project. hmmmmm

When there is this much controversy the burden of proof is on the hospital not the people that are here first.

Personally I don't give a hoot what you all think of me at least I do more then post on the forums and have gotten active in the last election and go put in the community and talk to people.

As far as another hospital in the county there will be one and one of the proposed sites has no opposition at all. So those jobs and tax dollars are coming anyway one way or another. And T8 if you felt like you need such serious medical care so close why didn't you move close to an hospital already built And Silence for someone who plans to leave this area soon I am not sure how much weight your opinion really holds in local affairs. You certainly are vocal enough about them yet you don't plan to stay, what is that all about. hmmmmm

And, she wasn't in that position when the COPN was approved.....hmmmmmm.

wow. really? have you required the same of every other business that has built on THEIR property here? did you picket outside of wendy's when they opened with their ugly signs and trash blowing around the parking lot? I am sure no one wants to live across from there. just wondering if you've been consistent on this. your reasoning is beyond ludicrous.

Apparently you do care, Lee, or you wouldn't have felt the need to remind us why you are better than us. You don't have to rub it in. It's not like some of us actually volunteer in the community, work with the poor and help kids from single family homes or anything. What we need are more people who go out and talk to people, so thanks for your good work.
