We are now way off topic, but the trees were about 100 yds from the pool, across the parking lot. They were in an "Natural Area" known as Butterfly Park.

Same thing appears to have happened three years ago (in the same thread, no less)... all the arguments have been argued. Nothing left for anyone to say, I guess.

Shhh! The pro-hospital and anti-hospital zealots just forgot to hate each other for a few days. Don't make them remember to re-hash the same old, same old again.

I was going to stir it back up again by starting a rumor about a metro train station in front of the hospital right on Broadlands Blvd, but with the recent news about the rail......

Actually, with the death of the metro, the hospital will start using their helipad for helicopter commuting to DC!

Who doesn't love the ad on the back of the Broadlands Association Newsletter?

And I noticed that "our" organization is now referred to without the term "Homeowners". Very interesting! Well, between the Innova and the HCA, the Broadlands Association Newsletter is taking in some serious ad $$$!

Oh, and to answer my hospital is extremely convenient.
    1. Innova is only 5.8 driving miles away and a 12 minute drive.
    2. Loudoun Hosp Center (Behavioral Center) is 9.8 miles / 15 minutes.
    3. Reston Hospital is 11.8 miles and 17 minutes
    4. Innova Fairfax 17 M / 24 minutes
On more thing, the Broadlands Hospital is supposed to serve the western portion of LoCo. Hmmmm....
    From Waterford VA
    Innova is 14.3 Miles / 20 Minutes
Broadlands RMC would be 15.6 Miles / 21 Minutes
    From Aldie VA
    Innova is 18 Miles / 24 Minutes
Broadlands RMC would be 13 Miles / 23 Minutes

However, if the hospital was built adjacent to the Leesburg Airport
    From Waterford
    10.2 Miles / 16 Minutes
    From Aldie VA
Hospital would be 14.3 Miles / 20 Minutes

So what is the purpose of this location?
:angel2: To serve Western Loudoun County?
:devil2: To be in the middle of a highly compensated, well insured population?

    Methinks B

How did you come up with the some of the time differences?

Example: for Aldie, the distances for the 2 hospitals is 5 miles different yet only 1 minute travel difference. I drive fast but have never covered 5 miles in 1 minute. ;)

Your're right - most people drive 10-20Mph over the posted 55 and in our neighborhoods the drivers already drive 10-20+ over the posted speed limit (ei Ridgeway, claiborne).

We already have crazy drivers who are ALREADY speeding in our neighborhood and we dont have a hospital, yet (to blame that on).

1-1, sure, but I am certainly not embarrassed. Ask T8ergirl, I do not embarrass much! :D

I am more irked for my brain-fart (sorry if this phrase offends anyone (gryphon)).

And as for Mapquest, I think they are pretty good, but I have found that some of their "Driving Times" can be significantly off. Especially in an area where new road construction is occurring constantly.

Who knows what the driving times would be from ANYWHERE in Loudoun in another 5 years (bout the time the hospital would be finished if approved).

Belmont Ridge could be 4 lanes, Rt 50 could be 4 lanes to Rt. 15, Evergreen Mills could be 4 lanes. Hell, even Rt 15 could be 4 lanes! Ok, not really Rt 15. :D

The Official name of our association is and has always been, Broadlands Association Inc. Look at any back issue of the newsletter and the return address in the address box will be the same. Ads support the production and mailing costs of the newsletter. Any income above and beyond those costs goes into the general income fund and help keep down the cost of monthly assessments.

Yes, the newsletter pays for things so you don't have to (HOA Dues). If all this concern and energy about a hospital were merely focused on the community and organization in which you call home.. you'd be amazed at what could be done!

Now that's 100% true. I can't believe the energy spent on this divisive issue.

Since some here have said that dues = taxes, you could even say that the newsletter lowers our taxes! Yippee!

If I spent it looking for a new job, I am sure that I'd be re-employed by now
