With the release of COD5 and the holidays coming up, i think a lan should be in order. We havnt had one in at least 2 years now, and everyone one of them has been great, especially COD1. I dont know if i am the only one that feels this way, but i miss the good times that came from the lans. ( well of course we dont have to haul our crt's down there anymore ).

I did not make it for any in the past... how was the set up? And why no CRTs? Are there monitors available there already? And when is COD5 released? I am a Company of Heroes player myself and also Warhammer. I do like COD4 but I play just the demo.

no console gaming from me... no I am a diehard PC Gamer. Starcraft is THE classic absolute best RTS game I think. I still play it once in a while but I find myself playing Warhammer instead. And you know, they still have professional Starcraft gaming leagues in Korea like we have professional sports here... talk about fans.

And I still use a CRT at home. I love the color and since it still works great I have not replaced my 19" but I do have an LCD for portability too.

Eric and I (and a few other members here and there) on the tech committee used to run the gaming parties, but have long since moved on to other projects. We posted a few times asking if others wanted to take over but no one stepped up. The tech committee still has the hub, lan cables etc for use if someone wants to run one.

As for the question on the setup, we would grab a open day at the community center and setup there (there are tables and chairs there for use). I think at the peak we had 14 people. We played mostly WWII type games, but branched out to star wars and I forget what else offhand. If anyone wants to run one feel free to drop by the next tech committee meeting, we'll be more then happy to provide whatever details we can.
