Broadlands Park/Entry Feature

What is the status (maybe I've missed it) on the park across Belmont Ridge from Truro Parish? Also, what's up with the Broadlands entry monument with the missing letters (and is now dark)? They seem to be irresistable to a few questionably stable people, but can't they be designed to attach to the wall permanently- maybe with posts on the backside concreted into holes in the wall? Or just a pre-cast concrete tag set into the stone? Or a guard dog with an attitude.

 

The developer removed the entry signs because letters were being stolen about once a month. They plan to come up with a more permanent solution to fix it.
The last I heard on the park across Belmont Ridge is next year. But then, I've been hearing that for the last 5 years!

I authorize my HOA dollars to be used for land mines around the sign. This way the "rodent" that keeps stealing the letters will be found - in pieces.

Well here we are 16 months later and we still have bare stone walls at the entry to Broadlands. Has our esteemed developer come up with a "more permanent solution to fix it" yet?

I have a rule of thumb that works pretty well: Take whatever time was initially promised, multiply by 2, then raise it to the third power. That time will be more accurate................

Well, you didn't ask them at the last update, why don't you try this coming Wednesday nite ??

FWIW ... both the Claiborne entrance, and the entrance at Mooreview are being looked at to:

1. replace the letters at the Claiborne entrance (which really can't be called the front entrance, more the north entrance)

2. create a new entrance at Mooreview (south east entrance ??)

3. The south entrance (Claiborne at Croson) has nothing planned currently AFAIK.

The mystery of the missing letters...

My guess is some teenager has his name spelled out in big black letters on the wall of his room. Especially easy if his name is ROD, BRAD, DAN, etc...

 

Or if his name was Don, he could spell out:
