Maybe somebody should think about building a recession proof business that has ejormous growth potential and a relatively lucrative/stable and educated workforce... maybe something like a hospital................

For those who care, the Planning Commission voted 9-0 to send the application along to the Board of Supervisors. Van Metre agreed to a lot of concessions like keeping the hotel at or above 5 stories (but max 85 feet); agreeing to limit alcohol to hotel residents only; and making improvements to Old Ryan Road. In case you are interested the 5 story height is intended to keep lower end hotels from being built on the site. According to Van Metre, a hotel less than 5 stories can be made with wood frame construction, and is thus cheaper to build. 5 stories and over is more expensive to build, which should bring a high-end hotel to the site.
