    Some excerpts:

"...it raises more money for education and other state programs..."

"the legislation will increase the state's sales tax by a half-cent and raise the 2.5-cent per-pack tax on cigarettes in two steps to 30 cents."

"It also will ... gradually reduce the tax on groceries, limit income tax breaks for older Virginians and corporations and increase the fees for recording deeds..."

Well, great. We had a half-cent sales tax proposal that was voted down that would have gone towards local road improvements. Yeah, it was kind of shady as to exactly who would get what, but at least we would have marginally benefitted in spite of potential mis-management. Now you can bet, like most of the revenue we generate for the rest of the state, that it will all head south and we'll be left with zippo. Man, they have some beautiful 8 lane divided highways down there that no one uses. I suppose it's time to widen them down there and plant a few thousand more azaleas in the median.

We've got a budget. No let's see how much money the Lo. Co. BOS tries to steal from the schools.
