Has anyone given a Build-A-Bear party for their daughter's birthday? Did you only do the party at the store or also do something at your house? If so, what games did you play? Is there anywhere to purchase the clothes at better (less expensive) prices than the store? Did you use the Tyson's store or the one at Fair Oaks? and finally, anyone have some Build-A-Bear stuff to get rid of and sell?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.......

I had parties in North Carolina, and they were fabulous.

You can choose to only have the party at the store, or you can start the party at the store and then do cake and gifts at your house. I did it both ways...party at store with cake in the mall food court, and then party at store with cake at home. Either way was fine. Probably best to have cake at the mall if they guests don't live near you.

The party at the store was long--at least an hour. The host (the person who works at build-a-bear) lead the party and stretched it out. The kids picked out their animals, and as they were waiting to stuff them, the host played games (Simon says, I-Spy, etc).

The thing I LOVE about the party is that you get a lot for the price. You chose how much to spend on each child ($10, $15, $20). That includes the bear, clothes (if they have money left over in their budget), the box for the bear, a coloring book and crayons, and coupons. PLUS, the host and the entertainment. You don't have to pay extra for that.

So, if you have a group of 6, you can budget $15 per child. The party would cost $90...but, as I said, that includes the hour of entertainment at the store, AND you don't have to buy party favors (which I always over-spend on anyway).

I'm not sure if they still do this, but you can get amazing deals on line while you're booking the party. If you say you want a $15 party and then click "next," the website says, "Hey, why not book a $20 party, and we'll give you one guest for free!" So you pay an extra $30 to bump 6 kids from $15 to $20, but you get $20 off...and it only ends up costing $10 more. **Hoping this makes sense!** Then the guests can get a bear AND clothes.

As far as clothes for cheaper somewhere else?? I don't really know. Sure the clothes at Build-a-Bear are crazy expensive, but they're made to fit. I don't know of a company that does imitation B-a-B clothes (like those that do American Girl clothes).

And, my goodness...I have a room full of Build-a-Bear stuff, and I'd sell it all in a heartbeat. But my girls would never talk to me again :) They're too attached right now, so we'll hold onto everything.

Good luck! I hope I helped!

A.C. Moore sells bear assembly stuff and clothes. You might find the same sizes there.

Oh, and I forgot...the birthday child gets an autograph bear.
It's a yellow pre-stuffed bear with a pen, and the party guests get to sign it.
    Part of the package!
