It all comes floating down when there's rains, plus stuff that blows off trucks along Waxpool.

Unfortunately when the recycling bins are taken out on a windy day and they are not secured that's what's been happening.

It would be whole lot easier to secure the bins, including the large ones with lids somehow then trying to pick up after it lands in the woods.

In addition, it would be nice if residents just went out and picked up some when that happens.

We had that exact problem next to our house which is wetlands. Not only recyclables but trash or loose items put out on a windy day, specially from the night before the pick up has been a big issue. We put our rain boots, gloves and finally I got a picker up thingy from a store so we can reach better. There are thorny plants that can be very difficult to go thru. Stuff gets caught on them and it's almost impossible to get plastic bags completely off. Items gets wet and nasty after few days.

It would be best to pick them up sooner than later. Especially before spring. It's much easier now.

I hope residents will be more aware and participating to keep our natural areas clean and free of trash.

    Oya
