Anyone know a local place to buy something like this? i think this special person in my life would love something that acknowledges and celebrates her win against cancer! she's become involved in different causes surrounding cancer, so i know it's something close to her heart.

local? non-internet place to buy? anyone? thanks in advance and Happy Holidays ya'll!

Every year I buy a gym membership from Trinity Day Spa (near the Dulles Town Center area) for a Cancer survivor - they have great gifts and donate a % to the Breast Cancer research.

FWIW, one of the owner's mother is a cancer survivor and they really gear gifts to give back to the cause.

something i have done for friends is to start a pandora bracelet for them. you can purchase the bracelet and a bead/charm to reperesent beating the cancer. then add to it the bracelet on special milestones, etc.:)

I think I heard recently that they have closed. I could be mistaken as I haven't checked it out myself, but I believe I heard someone say that in the past week or so.

I'm running the National Breast Cancer Marathon in Feb and would be happy if you donated to the cause in your friend's name. Feel free to check out the following if you wish: http://donate.breastcancermarathon.com/2010marathon/Susan Harsell

I just joined this after however many years! 2 of my children (one a 6th grader and one a 9th grader) have their own business making beaded jewelery and one of their top selling lines are breast cancer earrings and bracelets. They do fundraisers and also sell right out of our home- I have pictures of them too (the jewelry). Interested?

i actually ended up getting the perfect gift from The Pink Polka Dot in Brambleton- Black Positivity Bracelets and a beautiful double "believe for a cure" charm on a chain. thank you for the info though- hopefully your children will display their jewelry at upcoming local events that invite vendors! :)
