Will open end of 2006 at the Dulles Town Center. Nice Surprise!!!
I lived near the first one out in California and you had to wait forever no matter what day or time.

Overrated, IMHO. I've been a couple of times. The cheese cakes are great, but the entire menu is overpriced, and I have found the entrees to be mediocre at best...

Thanks for the post! I love the CF! Have been going since 1997 when I lived in California. Great bread, great salads, huge selection aimed to please everyone. Can't wait!

No matter what you think of the food and I do agree it is a bit overpriced. This area has been lacking in upscale chains. I also have never been that impressed with Clydes either, ate at the one in Reston and was just ok.

For me, my wife who is an incredible cook and I dabble at it. We have many friends that are gourmet cooks, so for us a real treat is staying at home and have some friends over and cook then watch a movie in our theater. My annual BIg Chill (after the movie) weekend is coming up with a few friends from from several parts of world who are incredible cooks. :) It has not been quite the same since Wilson Pickett (was my neighbor) got sick several years ago and died this year. He sang a few songs in the Big Chill. :)

Anyway with all theses new places opening up I have no clue how they will all stay in business.

i actually have a bigger issue with the quantities of food they serve than with the price. they're standard serving is really about 3 servings! it's ridiculous. i seriously wonder how much food they waste every day.

Cheesecake Factory is great and you have to take into consideration the portion size. I get the wait staff to bring a to-go box as soon as my food comes and split my entree in half right then. Then the prices are great since you are getting two entire meals!
Also the Adam's Peanut Butter Fudge Ripple Cheesecake is one of the best restaurant deserts I have ever eaten!

If only the quality of the food was better! Eat somewhere else, and get dessert at Cheesecake Factory. They have way too many entree choices. They would be better off with 20 items that they could really rock, rather than 90 mediocre choices.

    A general rule of thumb:
The better the restaurant, the fewer the choices.

I totally agree with you - Cheese Cake Factory is highly overated IMO. There is way too much food and it's not that great anyway.

I'm sorry, but "too much food" is something that I would NEVER criticize a restaurant about!

Too funny, that's the difference between men and women. I'm not a huge eater as I watch my weight - so it's a waste to me. Taking a "doggie bag" is something I don't like doing either. I just don't like huge amounts of food...and they're very high calorie as well.
