Clydes update?

anybody know anything about when/if Clyde's is building here?

 

Still coming, scheduled to open fall of 2004.

 

FYI -- work started today at the Clyde's entrance road. They put some large rocks down so dump trucks can enter/exit the area.

 

Where is it going to be?

 

It will be on Broadlands Blvd next to the Palace of Loudoun County Public Schools.

 

Where Chickakoan ends at Broadlands Blvd. It does look like they are putting in an access road to the site! Anybody know how long construction will take?

I agree that the current offices used by for the Loudoun County Public Schools on Plaza and North streets are not acceptable. That is why I voted yes on a bond referendum two years ago to spend $5.9 million dollars to improve the situation.
However, I believe that a $26,000,000 building that will barely be half utilized is not even close to being justified as a wise use of our tax dollars in a time of increasing property valuations and increasing tax rates.

 

I hate to break the news to everyone who is anxiously awaiting Clyde's (as am I), but my friend who works for the Cylde's resturaunt group told me earlier this week that they won't really begin work out here until next summer/fall and the opening will probably be later. There are still some historic preservation issues before they can move the buildings from Maine. She said it doesn't help that there is a new Clyde's opening in DC and efforts have been shifted to that for the early part of next year. The wait continues.....
