Hope you'll be able to join us for upcoming FREE Workshops in the community during January. We have 15 local events before heading back out on the road throughout February. There is no need to register--just bring a friend, spouse or neighbor.

We kick the month off right here in Broadlands on Tuesday, January 6th at Open Arms with a focus on helping pre-schoolers. We have all kinds of different events on weeknights, weekends...at schools, churches and an Islamic learning center. See the schedule below.

My promise to you? You'll laugh a lot, experience several "Ah ha" moments when the lightbulb goes off and walk away with a dozen very practical strategies that will help your child at home and in school. Plus all events are FREE and there is no need to register.

Heya! I love having older kids there. They can get a lot out of it, including laughing along with the stuff we do as parents. If you bring the Yankees boy out, I'll make sure I speak directly to him :) I don't kind if kids bring their DS, crafts, paper to draw on, etc. They usually listen better while they are doing something else.

Sorry I got this too late, but we'll be around in Leesburg on Sunday and at Cedar Lane next Tuesday. My son should be speaking with me next Tuesday evening.

    Have a great night!

    I went to it.

It was a fantastic lecture. Mr. Martin is an excellent speaker; witty, funny, and very interesting. The two hours flew by.

I thought it was going to be more general than it was - more of a how to deal with preschoolers on a daily basis. That was based on the little flyer the preschool handed out. If I had read the description posted here or if I had gone to the website, I would have seen it was geared more towards families with, as the website says, emotional and challenging children.

I did go home with a few tips on how to make my own household a little more calm and I thought it would be invaluable for families dealing with kids who are more intense.

I agree with JLC. Good lecture but I was disappointed that it wasn't geared more towards preschoolers as the flyer suggested.
