HELP!!! Of course through all of this snow, we were able to keep satellite service, but at some point this evening, while we were scraping snow out of the dish, it must have come unplugged or knocked out of alignment. I called DirecTV, and they can get a tech out to us on Tuesday (hopefully) but the Super Bowl is tomorrow!! Anyone out there work for DirecTV and would like to make some money on the side and come take a look? Thank you!!

Ours went screwy one time and when I was poking around at the dish I noticed that there is a level that can be adjusted. And by "level" I mean the little bar with the lines on it and the liquid inside where the bubble should be centered between the lines - like a hardware thing (not to insult you to say that you wouldn't know what a level was, just to clarify). I turned the dish a bit to align the bubble and that solved the problem. The smallest misalignment seemed to make a big difference. Good luck!

Thanks! Since we were out there in the dark in 3 feet of snow with a flashlight, here's to hoping the daylight will help me find what you are talking about.

I did the same thing to our dish once, but was able to get it pointed back in alignment. Since then, rather than brush off snow, I pour hot water on the dish to melt the snow away. No chance of knocking it out of alignment again!

Don't forget that about 200 Openband prisoners, I mean customers, also pay for satellite services.

    Actually it's a 25 year term with 4 additional terms @ 10 years = 65 years

However we do have DirecTV and our HD was hit or miss most of yesterday...but returned in the late evening.

First, a little secret! When there is a call for snow just spray the dish with "Pam". It keeps the snow from sticking and there is no need to brush anything off!

When I accidently knocked mine out of alinement, the quickest/easiest thing to do is have a person by the tv and the other at the dish and just slightly move the dish until the reception comes back. We're not talking swinging the distance by some huge margin, but a few inches in each direction.....
