Discovery Kids...special nature classes for 2 & 3 year olds.

November 9th 10 to 11 a.m. at the Nature Center.
Discovering the Wonders of Autumn - Discover the changes that occur in this colorful season. Take a nature walk with a magnifying glass and collect fallen treasures from the trees and make a special wreath to take home.

Discovering the Wonders of the Wind - Discover how wind is just air that can makes things move like bubbles and paper airplanes, and work, like a kazoo. We’ll be flying paper airplanes, blowing bubbles, doing wind painting - so dress in painting clothes - and playing with a gigantic parachute.

$9 in advance, $12 at the door if space is available
    Limited to 12 children

Call the Nature Center at 703-729-9704 to register

Oh nuts. I wish some of these classes were available on the weekends for us parents that have to work during the week. My daughter would really enjoy these classes.

oh nuts is right. I didn't realize these were during the week. Why is there such a lack of activities for kids on the weekends around here? Not everyone in the world is a SAHM but we still want to be in mom's groups, playgroups and other activities.

    smheese and others:

For nature events, check out Claude Moore Park's Nature Center. The center has events on weekends also. Look at the Fall Loudoun Parks and Rec publication or you can access online through Loudoun Parks and Rec's web site. Claude Moore Rec Center with indoor waterpark will open by end of December 2006. Look at photos online--another soon to be great destination!

Also, Reston Community Center is a great resource for kids weekday and weekend activities. Web site is:

    restoncommunitycenter.com

RCC also rents out their facilities for parties and other events. Fairfax Parks and Rec's web site has also other nature events and fall activities on weekends.

Also, we love Rust Sanctuary in Leesburg. Any other information on nature and other outdoor events--post online and I will provide a plethoria of information on subjects.
