    Boomer - you are so right. It's always a case of the "few idiots" that ruin it for everyone else. It doesn't matter if you are talking firearms, motorcycles or pets. Now, allow me to drive all over the map here....

    We, as a Nation, do a fairly decent job of regulating folks off the roads that shouldn't drive (although car accidents are still the #1 cause of accidental deaths in the U.S.). We do an OK job of getting pets out of the hands of folks that shouldn't have them - sadly, usually after the fact.

    But, do we do as good of a job keeping firearms out of the hands of the incompetent & loons? Do we do a good job of keeping children out of the hands of "parents" that should not be within 500 feet of a minor? How about our ability to stop fools from blabbering on incoherenlty about this & that and stirring up trouble? Not so much, why?

    The ability to drive and and the ability to own pets are privileges where as the ability to freely express ourselves, own firearms and reproduce are all rights. Rights are either granted by the Government or simply come along with being human. Curbing rights is a very, very slippery slope. It doesn't matter if those rights are individual, States' or localities'.

    We must all be very careful in what we wish for. Once one right is denied, the dominoes start to fall. Our Constitution should not be fussed with on a whim. Thomas Jefferson said it best in the Declaration of Independence; "Prudence indeed, will dicatate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient Causes..."

    {PS Boomer - don't be afraid of the two wheel gig - just open carry, you'd be surprised how nice people get! :happygrin:}
