Is this still available? And do people mistake this doll for an American Girl doll?

 

Wow Imagine a girl's doll that is not run on batteries and has a pentium processor inside! A good old fashioned doll that "forces" a girl to use her imagination as opposed to just pushing a button!

Glad they still make these types of dolls/toys.

The doll is the same size, shape, and materials (vinyl arms & legs, soft cotton body) as the American Girl dolls. The mouths on the AG dolls show a bit of teeth but the Gotz dolls do not. The quality of materials and of the doll overall is comparable to the AG doll, which is why I also bought one for my own daughter. From the online research I did before buying, the ones you can find at Target, Michaels, and AC Moore are of lesser quality. Someone on eBay has a guide comparing the two types that you might find helpful. Other information I read online was just as positive about the Gotz dolls.
