Drywall from China

    Florida had many reports last January. Occupants reported strong sulfer smells and damage to plumbing (corrosion) and electrical damage.

    we have had a bad eggy smell in the house lately- we blamed The Boy and made him drink more water! how do we get the drywall tested I wonder...?

    Pretty sure it was Sheetrock brand (USG) or Georgia Pacific.

    Our 2007 townhome has Gold Bond wallboard. I know this because I took a picture of it during construction. :) According to the manufacturer, this wallboard does not contain any material from China: http://www.nationalgypsum.com/literature/Chn_drywall.pdf

    VM may well have used different brands at different times, though.

    I have heard from representatives from Van Metre assuring me that Van Metre does not use drywall imported from China. Below is a link to several documents from Van Metre's suppliers attesting to this fact.
