DSL for the Broadlands?

    Anyone hear of any new news from Verizon on DSL for the Broadlands? A buddy of mine who previously didn't qualify for DSL in Brambleton seems to now have it available. I know there were rumors earlier this year of Verizon installing remote DSLAMS in the area but the rumor seems to have died, or maybe not.

    I have heard nothing about the DSLAMs that were rumored months ago.

    I just tried Verizons page at http://www22.verizon.com/ and put my number in (again). Still not available. I put my name on their 'contact me list' over 4 years ago.

    Has anyone here tried talking to Verizon about getting a Remote DSLAM installed? I know they won't do it for just a couple of people but we have thousands of homes here. The RT seems to be located on Vestals and Claiborne. Is there another RT in the area?

    I don't know if I'll have any luck but before I go off and make lots of noise I want to know if it's already been done. It can't hurt can it? :)

    I had been trying to get DSL from Verizon since I moved to the internet capital (I live in Carisbrooke right now). I have talked to many customer service people who have no information. I also sent notes to a couple of email addresses I found - after being bounced all over the place I was thanked for my continued use of Verizon - note I cant get it but they thanked me anyway. I then took the step of writing the Chairman & CEO - I work for a Fortune 5 company and even though the CEO never sees these type of letters it usally generates a response from someone down the line. My response from Verizon - oh.. I'm still waiting - 3 months.
    Good luck on DSL from Verizon.
