What's with the $2 million park that's always locked up? And who was Edgar Tillett? Sure would be nice to enjoy a park that's all dressed up but seemingly has nowhere to go. Especially since we paid for it.

Actually ... part of that was a proffer from Broadlands Associates, the developer, as part of the stuff offered to get the rezonings. So, in a sense you paid for it when your house was sold by the developer.

I'm not sure, but I suspect that the park may not have been fully accepted by the Loudoun County Parks & Rec Dept from the final contractor.

From all I can find on Google, Mr Tillett was a long time resident of Loudoun, and owner of a local farm. I wouldn't be surprised if parts of Broadlands were, at one time, part of that farm.

Belmont Ridge and Truro Parish intersection. It's right there I believe. A very nice looking park with a nice reservoir that no one can ever get into. The parking lot has been closed since they finished it. I do believe there is another enterance to the park elsewhere but I'm not sure where that is. heh.

I don't think it's done yet, though it appears to be done from the road. But if you go past the gates it looks like they're still working on the ball fields, etc.

BTW, does anyone know what they are putting in to the right of that (if you're looking from Truro, right on Belmont). They took out a bunch of trees. I guess more housing?

The west side of Belmont Ridge Road from the reservoir to north of Sycolin Rd will all be developed with hundreds and hundreds of new residential units and associated commercial development. Most of it has already been approved, with one project going through the final stages of approval.

Glad to see they manage to beautifully pave an unused parking lot, and yet 20 ft of gravel still exist places that make absolutely NO SENSE. :)

First, pave roads we actually use. Then pave unused park parking lots.

I believe the parking area was done as part of the original proffers. The county had nothing to do with it. FWIW .. Belmont Ridge between Tureo Parish and the Greenway will be redone to a divided 4 lane within the next few years.
