    This post has a good enumeration of the costs of using TiVo with FiOS. The only thing that has changed is that just one cable card is needed and it's only $4/month.

    Oh no, 1000 channels and nothing to watch! I want to pick my channels and chuck to rest. Cable is good, but svc is poor, FIOS (have now) is great but svc is poor, Dish I had but equip life was about 18 months (lost all movies recorded on HD) - pic quality excellent, but when do you really want to watch TV (besides the big game) - when its raining or snowing outside and Dish lost signal 80% of the time, but when it came in it was great and their remotes were the best

    Your dish likely needed to be re-aimed and peaked for best signal...
