The Inova Mobile Health Unit will be at the Broadlands Nature Center offering flu shots on September 3rd from 2pm to 8pm and October 2nd from 2pm to 9pm. The shots are available to individuals aged 4 and up. The cost is $20.00. If you have a Medicare part B card you will need to show the card to the flu shot provider so they can submit the charge to Medicare.

Do we need to register ahead of time or is it first come first served?

H1N1 vaccines are still in 'testing' stages and I doubt they will be ready to be incorporated in this year's "flu vaccine". It will have to be a separate vaccine and will be distributed on a priority basis due to manufacturing limitations.

Short answer, I would be EXTREMELY surprised if the vaccine offered by Inova incorporates this and if it did, you would be testing an 'experimental' vaccine...

From all the news I've read, h1n1 will be a separate vaccine from the regular flu vaccine.

We never had to wait in long lines for our shots and the cost is generally $5-10 cheaper.

Inova has just let us know that the cost of the flu shot will be $25, not $20 as they originally anticipated.
