Fools @ Briar Woods!

Briar Woods Black Forest Productions, the drama department, would like to invite everyone in the community to their performance of Fools.

Neil Simon's comic fable Fools takes place in Kulyenshikov, a remote Ukrainian village that, from all appearances, is idyllic. However, the tragedy of the villagers' lives is that they've all been cursed with chronic stupidity for 200 years. Out of desperation, they hire Leon Tolchinsky, an ecstatic schoolteacher, to break the curse. What they don't tell Leon is that if he fails in his efforts, he, too, will become stupid. And he has just 24 hours to put an end to the curse. Fools spins a traditional Russian folk tale about a village of idiots with Neil Simon's most outrageous characters and distinctive brand of contemporary wit and hilarity.

Tickets are $7 for Adults, $5 for Students, and children under the age of 5 get in free!

We heard about their last production, Fractured Fairytales, on this forum at the last minute and went to see it - wow! The kids had fun, we enjoyed the show. There are some very funny and talented actors at Briar Woods. My kids spent the next couple of days acting out some of the funniest parts.

 

As a completely unbiased cast member, I'd like to say that if you enjoyed our FF showing, then you'll love Fools. We have a great set and cast, so you should take some time out of your busy schedule and come watch us try to entertain you. But seriously, folks, please do. ~P.B.

I learnt this in a communication workshop - if you mention the time in an unusual format more than likely it will get noticed...

I think they were just trying to get your attention..which I think they succeeded in....
