    I dropped off Gypsy to her new family yesterday and brought home River. He's a german shepherd mix, who we fostered for one week before we had Gypsy. He was adopted but returned because he did not get along with the family's cat. My kids asked for him back when we let Gypsy go. When I figure out where I left my camera, I'll post photos because the one on FOHA's website doesn't do justice to this gorgeous animal!

    River is a happy, well-adjusted, playful dog who adores kids and all people as well as dogs. He lets my 5 year old give him hugs that even I would object to, they are so tight. Before I got him the first time, he was being fostered by a college student living in a group house with lots of people and other dogs. River is super friendly. I even took him to the Super Pet Expo in Chantilly, an hour after bringing him home yesterday, where he saw hundreds of people and dogs of all kinds in a very distracting environment. He was as happy and friendly as could be.

    River is:
    * Neutered
    * Up to date on all shots and heartworm prevention
    * Good with kids
    * Good in the car
    * Housetrained
    * Outgoing and friendly
    * Would like to chase cats
    * Loves other dogs
    * An all-around great dog!

    If you're interested in River please call Friends of Homeless Animals at 703-385-0224 - www.foha.org . I will generally take him there for show times on Saturday and/or Sunday afternoons but can arrange a specific time there or in the Ashburn area on request - call me at 703-975-5626. I'll post more info on River and better pictures, at www.gypsydog.blogspot.com.
