Can anyone recommend places to get good haircuts for men and kids? My husband has curly hair that's also thinning, and he's had bad experiences at places like Supercuts because his hair is sort of hard to cut well. He's been going to Eclips, but we'd like to stop having to pay $50 every time he needs a haircut. Any recommendations?

I also need to find somewhere to get haircuts for my almost-3 year old. We've taken him to Eclips Kids several times. He's gotten 2 good haircuts, 1 mediocre one, 1 bad one, and one complete hatchet job there. I've requested the people who've given him good haircuts, but those people apparently don't work very often.

My husband likes going to the barber shop near California Tortilla. When my dad was staying with us he liked it, too. Something about how they use a straight razor, which most salons don't do anymore. It seems like kids' haircuts are hit or miss most everywhere. You might try the same barber shop for your son and see how it is.

I was going to recommend the same place. My husband will only go to that barber and he takes my 7yo son there too (has been for years).

Check out Blad'z on Ashburn Rd. My son is mixed- Bla-talian- lol :) and has soft curly hair. Nate did a FANTASTIC job on his hair- and The Boy is hard to please.

My hubby used to go to that one by Cal Tort in the Village, but someone was so bad one time that another barber said to my husband before he left, "sit back down... I'll fix it." He never went back, but has since gone to the place on Truro Parish by Cafe Opera/Broadlands Pizza. The place that used to be Quiznos. He and my two small boys have had great luck there and the prices are good, too.
