Quick question to all Broadlands homeowners ...
Is everybody in Broadlands getting these weekly coupons ... $20 off if you spend $40 ??

We get a flier with four weeks worth of coupons ... How long are they planning on sending these out ? We have been getting it ( I believe ) since last year ! :partydance2:

I got one yesterday, but prior to that hadn't seen them for a few months. Do folks get them more regularly than that?

I haven't received any for probably a year, but I know plenty of people in the area who get them regularly. I have no idea how HT decides who they're going to send them to, because I've had a VIC card since the 90's and I'm somehow out of the loop now.

We got them yesterday as well but they were down to $10 off for each of the next four weeks.

We used to get them all the time. But then I actually started using them, going in with my calculator, only buying things on sale and coming as close as possible to the $40. After using 2 cycles of coupons like this, they stopped :( The store couldn't tell me how the company decides who to send them to.

I use them all the time, I just got the $10 ones. I was bummed. My last bill was $74 dollars, before the $20 coupon, and a few other coupons, total was about $43 when the dust settled. That's not too bad for 2 people I guess. (the $74 is a weekly)

We've gotten them every week since the store opened and have done just as you did by attempting to shop only the sales and spent right at the minimum required. Originally it was $20 off $50, then $20 off $40, and now $10 off $35. Still nice but not as sweet as the 20/40 deal. I am not sure how they decide who gets them but based on our experience I'd say doing the bare minimum spend is not in the criteria to stop receiving coupons. We've also received the gift bags on the door twice.

We get them once a month & it has 4 weeks worth of coupouns. Of course I always spend more than $40 - it's more like $150 or so but that $20 off sure is helpful.

Hint....Have all your family members get a VIC card. Increases the liklihood you will be sent more coupons. The last few batches we've gotten are in my 14 year old's name!

I too received them on a monthly basis with the 4 week coupon set. nice thing is some times they would come "late" or I forget them so I can simply take the coupon and my receipt from an earlier purchase during the week promotion (each coupon was stamped for a particular week) and get my $20.25 (yep they did give me the change for taxes :))back. I too have seen the change from 20 off for 50 and then 20 off for 40 and now the recent change of 10 for 35... too bad.

We have been getting these since around Thanksgiving-time, which is when we got (and used) the first set (they were 20 off 40 then). I find these really useful for the incidental shopping, when we have a few odds and ends to get and can get $40-ish worth in-between major shopping runs.
We do major shopping runs at Safeway since prices are a little better, and we get the 10-cent-per-gallon discount on gas. It may not be often we get to take advantage, but every bit helps. :)

Whoa! I never thought to take my receipt back and ask for the credit. That's really trying to retain customers.

I went online to request the coupons... gave them my card # too. It seems now I will have NO coupons, but 2 sets of cards.... :screwy:

    Here's their reply:

Thank you for your email. Coupon mailers are targeted to specific customers, for various reasons, based on shopping history. They are not sent to all customers at the same time, nor for the same reasons. There is no mailing list for these and you will not receive them every month, or even receive the same coupons as your neighbor might receive. We have verified your information is correct in our database so you may receive any future mailers you may be entitled to.

We have ordered cards for you. They will arrive in 1-2 weeks.

    Thanks for shopping with us.

    Sincerely,

    Harris Teeter Customer Relations

I love their pricing policy. If something rings up incorrectly, (and you point it out to them so they can fix it) you get it free. If you were buying TWO of said item, you get one free, and one at 50% off. Got me a free salmon dinner the other night. A few days later a free red pepper and half off his little buddy.

also, if you buy a HT brand item and are not happy with it, you may return that item and get another brand. example, i bought HT hot dog buns, one had a little mold, took it back and they encouraged me to get a more expensive brand.

speaking of red peppers, sometimes you can find them marked down on a rack if they are a little wilted- which is fine by me since i like to roast them. they are like 4 for 1 or 2 bucks that way!!
