I don't exist, Pats_fan? Do you say that to anyone who does not agree with you? You think that speaking out against HCA's attempts to prevent this county from having needed cardiac care is wrong and polarizing. I think that it is the right thing to do. Just because I have not posted here all that long does not mean that I do not have a right to begin now. I just moved here, join the bulletin board and you say mean things about me, it just shows me that the hospital supporters are only interested in stomping all over anyone who tries to have an opinion you don't like. God knows I was warned about you people but I didn't think it could be that bad!! I don't know how you were raised but I was raised to be more respectful and decent. Since you only know how to be rude I will not respond to your posts any more.

My last promise to Pats_fan goes for you too, T8merman. You don't know how to be decent so you can attack someone else for a while and feel all big and bad about yourself.

As if she would believe anything you would report. In her mind, HCA=HOA=Admins. And I thought the Yankees were the "Evil Empire". :)

I thought you were not going away:

I have not been mean to you at all. In case you forgot, about 2 weeks ago I tried to empathize with you by giving you some personal information about my own son's heart defect. Now you are chris' clone, twisting the facts and making false allegations the same way she does. If you confuse my expression of my personal opinion as meanness, I'm sorry. If you really do exist, I'm sorry too. But I don't believe it is the case.

Good, you and your thin skin should not be playing in these "reindeer games". If you think anytime anyone responds "anti" to what you post is an attack, then you need to close your drapes, turn out your lights, and pretend you are not home.

I don't know how to be decent?? OUCH! Boy, you got me with that one MaryJo! Pretty shallow of you to make baseless judgements on a few posts, some of which you have obviously misinterpreted.

    Have a nice day.

    Homer,

BRMC can provide a Cardiac Cath Lab becuase they already are providing those services at Northern Virginia Community Hospital. HCA is simply moving the services and beds that have already been authorized by the State from their existing hospitals in Arlington and Falls Church. BRMC's cardiac beds are already part of the pool in our area.

I see. Anyone else think the way the government regulates healthcare is odd? I'm sure there are reasons for it but it seems overly complicated. So what is Arlington and Falls Church doing for cardiac?

Within 4 miles of both Arlington and Falls Church are Georgetown University Hospital and GWU Medical Center. Both of these provide cardiac services. Within 7 to 11 miles (depending on where in either city you live) there are also cardiac cath labs at both Inova Fairfax and Inova Mount Vernon.

Our closest cardiac cath lab is in Reston.

I guess that's not so bad. I can get to Reston in about 10 minutes if the roads are clear but if the toll road is flummoxed it could be deadly!

If it's not so bad, then you seem to be saying that we basically don't need another hospital in Lo. Co. Am I missing something?[:p]

T8: While I generally am not a fan of the "what about the children" mentality, I will not speak badly about a mother who wants the best for her child. I think that some men in here don't understand the maternal impulse very well. I guess it's just millions of years of evolution that separate the sexes.

Chris - I do not understand ANYTHING about women much less the maternal instinct. But as far as using it as forum fodder to manipulate, I am totally against it and will continue to speak out.

This is not meant to be flippant, but as a father, I certainly want the best for my child too. As I told my wife after our son was born, "I am now #2 and you are #3 on the totem poll". This means I will put my son's welfare before mine or my wife's.
As for me being in a chippy mood today, I am on vacation next week and need to get some posts in before I leave!

    Nice alliteration. Alliteration ameliorates all.
So, your son rules the house, then you're next, and you poor wife is the servant to you both? And totem poles -- how absolutely unchristian!!!

Again, with the word twisting! That statement does not imply the other. This counties pop is growing so fast that another hospital is needed.

Yes, our son rules the house becuase we are afraid of him! 1 year old and already 30 pounds of rippling muscle and sinew.

As far as my wife being the servant, she certainly is!
Now, if I can just figure out why I do most of the chores?

Unchristian??? In a few instances relateting to how that "term" was used on these very forums, I will take that as a compliment!

I've been reading the hospital debate quietly for a while. I'm not sure this forum needs yet another opinion, but I'll toss mine in anyway.

The anti-hospital people are too caught up in their emotion to see the logic of the other side. The pro-hospital people are too focused on their logic to see the emotion of the other side. If 10+ years of marriage have taught me anything, it's that logic and emotion don't mix. In an argument, pushing more of one just causes the other to dig in their heels all the more.

Personally, I hope the hospital is not built. That's for one simple reason - NIMBY emotion. I don't believe that any of the other arguments against the hospital really hold any water. Yet reading these forums is interesting. I tend to be driven more by logic than emotion, so if I based my opinion simply on these forums, I'd be on the pro-hospital side.
