How long after the 'Fios is coming' notice did you actually GET IT?!

I'm in Overland Park and last spring there was some digging- only halfway down my street- not even close to my house. I got a notice last month that 'Fios is Coming' but still no word on when I can actually get service!! I have a DVR through Comcast that I would like to move rooms (they charge me $50- lovely!) and I REALLY want to move it, but if Fios will be available in the next month or so then I'll just hold off. Any insight?!?

 

$50 isn't bad for crawling around the attic or wherever to drop a new line.... but we were able to order FIOS the day the hanger was on the door... it was installed about 10 days later. we just use it for the interwebtubes though.

 

I too live in Overland Park, and the digging was on the other side of the street from us. Our friends in Ashburn Village didn't get notified that the service was available until 3-4 months after all of the fiber is placed in the ground. Based on that, I think we are easily 4-6 months away.

sorry, I was talking about the "fios is here" door hangars... I don't think we ever got "coming" ones...

 

I called yesterday and the CSR said they are set for digging on Overland Park Dr. in September and October- no specific dates or house numbers. So hopefully by the end of October we should have something!!!

 

I got the "FIOS is COMING" 2-3 months before I got the "FIOS is HERE". I really want to sign up, but will play hard to get in hopes of getting a better deal. My Comcast service is actually performing quite well now so I'm in no rush to switch.
