I messed up and dropped the plastic cup from the laundry detergent down the master bath toilet. I messed up further by trying to plunge the toilet. Any suggestions on how to fix this myself and feel free to reassure me that it isn't a big deal. :)

    It's not a big deal*.............................

*Note I am not a plumber or very handy in which my reassurance is based on zero experience or any direct/indirect knowledge. I've owned a socket set for 13 years and just used them for the first time last month, if thats any indication to the skill set that is providing this moment of comfort.....

Hey thanks for making me laugh and for replying to my post. I managed to fix it myself by removing the whole toilet, taking the cup out of the toilet trap with a closet auger, replace the wax ring=nasty, and put the whole thing successfully back together. It was a less than $20 mistake and I now know what to do for next time. I was going to delete my post but couldn't figure out how to do that.

No need to delete your post. You had a problem and solved it. Your post might help someone else in a few months or in a year when it happens to them.

Glad everything worked out. And I know what you mean about the wax ring ;)
