Attention parents of 1st through 5th grade boys - come to Join Scouting Night to see what Cub Scouts has to offer for your son. Lots of fun activities with friends, opportunities to learn and grow as citizens and leaders, and much more! Cub Scouts is "Fun With a Purpose." Join Scouting Night will be held at Hillside this Wednesday, September 10. Flyers should be coming home in backpacks today.

Pack 1483 meets at Hillside and has a website that tells about some of the activities we're involved in throughout the year: www.pack1483.com .

There are other packs in the area too - 1483 meets at Mill Run. If you have any questions feel free to post them here or email the contact link at pack1483.com .

My two boys at Hillside did not have the Join Scouting Night flyer in their backpacks yesterday, so I wonder if they only gave them out to first-graders, or if they didn't send them out at all.

Just wanted to let you know that boys can start in Cub Scouts any time from 1st through 5th grade. It's a lot of fun! Come to Join Scouting Night in the Hillside cafeteria on Wednesday September 10, 7-8:30pm.

My daughter in the 2nd grade brought a Boy Scouts flyer home the first week of school.

My kindergartner brought one home too and I got all excited... until I saw he's not old enough. Made me wonder why they gave them to the KG kids, but whatever... I can handle it!

Because Tiger Cubs are open to kids in 1st grade OR 7 years old. It's to cover the kids like my daughter who have "late" birthdays and so a year older than most of their peers in the grade.

Your kindergartener and his friends can get a head start by joining over next summer. Check our pack website for the contact link in early June. We'll have started planning at least one event per month through the summer and new scouts are welcome. There's a daycamp, bike rodeo, pool party, and much more.
