Random emails that have been sent to the @adelphia.net address have shown up as forwarded emails in the Comcast inbox over a week late. Has anyone else seen similar problems?

This morning we received in the comcast mailbox a personal email, an eBay email, and an LCPS school closing email that were sent to the @adelphia.net address last week. These notes are not accessible through the incoming Adelphia server: they do not show up when Thunderbird queries the server and I did not see these (or any) emails in the Adelphia.net web view of the email box a few days ago. We have also been informed that some emails have not made it through at all. Others will be forwarded through instantly.

I'm waiting until a little later this morning to call Comcast. But in the interim, any thoughts?

    Thanks.

I reported the late forwarding to Comcast yesterday. A couple different friends had the same issue and were told it was fixed by a configuration setting (?!?)... The support person I spoke to yesterday at Comcast was very nice and pleasant, but wasn't overly knowledgeable. I tried to get her to read the headers and see the evidence of the delay, but she just kept asking if I use Outlook...

Eventually she spoke to someone who was aware of the problem, but it's an open issue.

I've been getting delays on all my Adelphia accounts. I haven't called ComCast about it yet.

Judging by the long header information, the delays are happening between two of their servers. There are no configuration settings on the user side that can fix it.

Here's a snippet from the long header on one recent e-mail:
    Received: from mta6.adelphia.net ([68.168.78.190]) by sccrmxc20.comcast.net (sccrmxc20) with ESMTP id <20070221125024s20008et9ee>; Wed, 21 Feb 2007 12:50:24 +0000
    Received: from edge6.adelphia.net ([163.252.31.54]) by mta3.adelphia.net (InterMail vM.6.01.05.02 201-2131-123-102-20050715) with ESMTP id <20070219211601.GGC7236.mta3.adelphia.net@edge6.adelphia.net>; Mon, 19 Feb 2007 16:16:01 -0500

As you can see, the e-mail was received by adelphia on 2/19/07, but wasn't sent on to me until 2/21/07.

I have had the same problem with comcast and called them to try to get some help on the issue. They were surprised to hear that my emails weren't being forwarded and said they had no reason as to why it was happening. I had proof also. When I went again to check my comcast email on their website I had over 480 emails. I am wondering if you all have a suggestion as to another alternative to provider. I was happy with adelphia and never had any problems, but I am so dissatisfied with comcast I want to scream. They also came out and disconnected our service and after 2 hours on the phone they apologized and realized they disconnected us prematurly. The amount that was due was the current billing amount that hadn't even been sent out yet and disconnected our service. We then got a credit for the current bill and have yet to have that credit show up on our bill...but they sure did try to charge us a reinstatement fee....
