Does anyone know where to get maternity clothes that aren't too expensive? Or does anyone have any to sell/give that they aren't using anymore?

Old Navy has a terrific selection and they allow you to return/exchange. Motherhood has some nice styles, but they don't allow you to return or exchange under any circumstances. Pea In the Pod (Tysons Galleria) has some classy clothes, but they're pricey. Gap and Old Navy would be your best bet for maternity clothes that aren't too expensive. There's a huge selection online.

And the number one thing you need to have is the Bella Band (www.bellaband.com). That allows you to wear your regular pants just a bit longer because it's like a tube top that you wear over your unbuttoned/unzipped pants comfortably. It's perfect for the horrid in-between stages (before your belly pops and a couple weeks after you've given birth).

    Good luck!

Depending on the style you might be able to buy a larger size instead of maternity. I needed dress pants for work and was able to buy a couple of pairs of pants with elastic waistbands in a 1X women's size to fit me. With tunic tops and empire waist shirts back in style, you can try those, too. Check with places like Ross, Marshalls, and TJ Maxx for bargains.

Yes, that's right! Target has a GREAT selection. The Leesburg Outlets have Motherhood Maternity and the same rules regarding returns/exchanges apply there as well.

I know this sounds odd, I didn't believe it when I was told this at first, but Gap maternity pants are great, however, do not ever buy Old Navy shorts or pants. The elastic waist does not hold and they fall down and are absolutely useless. I couldn't use any bottoms from Old Navy that I bought. Motherhood is OK quality, Pea in a Pod is great, but expensive. I would stick with Gap for middle of the line...

Also wanted to add that I've found some clothes at www.babystyle.com and Nordstrom has an online maternity section where you can find a good deal every now and then. I second the recommendation to not use Old Navy pants, but would also add that the shirts are lousy too--I wore one a whole 2 times before a hole appeared--just not made well at all!

Oh no! I just went to www.babystyle.com, clicked on tops and this message came up:
We're sorry but we have suspended internet sales from our site.
babystyle is sad to announce that we have filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. At this time, we will no longer accept online orders.

Thanks for everyone else who has made suggestions!!

What size are you looking for? I just gave away about three years worth of maternity clothes but have a couple of shirts and maybe some pants. They are your if you want them but I think they are only in large and extra large (I gained 78lbs with my first one)

I would wear size small, possibly medium. Thank you for the offer! I'm petite at 4'11'' :)

I found H&M had some decent Maternity Clothes and you can find some less expensive maternity clothes at Kohls.

Stores tell you to buy your pre-pregnancy size, but don't believe them. You gain weight in places you don't want to anyways. I'm 5'4 and weighed 110 lbs before I was pregnant with my first one. I gained 50+ lbs and was wearing materninty clothes in sizes L and XL. It sucked. Same with pregnancy #2. Pregnancy #3 was a bit different in that I only gained 35 lbs so I was wearing M and L. Pregnancy #4 was the same as 1 and 2. Keep in mind I went back to my pre-pregnancy weight with all kids...just not my pre-pregnancy size!

So the moral of the post is, don't drop a ton of $$$$ on clothes that will fit you for a couple of weeks. Doesn't matter what your beginning size is.
