    Hello,

I wanted to let everyone know that I will be offering summer math seminars for all students going into Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, and Pre-Calculus this summer in July and August. I am a resident of the Broadlands and work at one of the high schools in the area (I am a former math teacher and currently I am an Assistant Principal). The seminars are designed to give students core ideas of their math class that they will take in the 2008-2009 school year. Foundational concepts are taught and students will step into their new math class with new skills and a greater sense of confidence. Please see the following website for additional information.

Please mention that you are a Broadlands Resident and you will receive 10% off :)

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

    Thanks!

I apologize for the typo on the subject title :)

"Math Summer Seminars for High Schools Students"
    should read
"Math Summer Seminars for High School Students"

Good thing I married an English teacher ;)

I also wanted to point out that these seminars (Alg I, Geometry, Alg II, and Pre-Calculus) are designed for students who will enroll in a high school level class next year. I forgot to mention in my original post that many middle school students will take high school level classes like Algebra I and even Geometry next year and the seminars are specifically designed to get them ahead of the class before the school year even starts. Chances are that the Algebra I seminar will be comprised of at least 50% middle school students and the Geometry seminar will probably be about 1/3 middle school students.

You would be surprised - for every student who is taking Geometry (or something else higher) in 8th grade, there is an equal number of students still working on their math foundations in 8th grade Pre-Algebra. Every student gets to the same point (hopefully) - some just take a little longer to get there.

I wanted to let everyone know that the final sessions for the Algebra I, Geometry, and Pre-Calculus seminars will be starting up in the next weeks. If you have a student who is going into one of these classes next year, please consider them taking this 2 week seminar to put them ahead of the class for the entire year.

We just finished the Algebra II seminar and it was extremely successful. One parent recently emailed me the following feedback:

"My daughter really enjoyed the last seminar. She found it very beneficial and your techniques and 'tricks' were very helpful. One day after picking her up from the class, she got in the car and said, 'I wish he could be my teacher. He gets me. He understands that sometimes I just don't know where to start.' Thank you."
