Any recommendations on a mexican restaurant with good food that is not to far to drive?

    Thanks ahead of time.

Rio Grande in Reston Town Center.

Someone will probably mention Los Toltecos in COuntryside, but I hated it.

Yes, Rio Grande has good eats. There is also a Don Pablos in Sterling, which is ok.

Los Toltecos is not very good nor is Casa Gonzalos in Leesburg.[V]

Rio Grande's food was good, but I thought the drink prices were outrageous. $7 for the house margarita (in a tiny 6-oz glass crammed with ice)!

La Chosita in Leesburg is awesome. Best nachos and steak sandwich anywhere.

I second the tortilla factory, I hate don pablos, and I like On the border in the reston town center.
Also, there is a taco bell just down the road there next to food lion....? .....[:0][:I]

Tortilla Factory and Rio Grande are our favs! I've been going to Tortilla Factory for years and love it. Picante, near 50 and 28, is not bad, but I wouldn't put it at the top of the list.

    Ditto, great authentic place.

But don't order the beef soup. I don't speak much spanish, so I mis-interpreted the content of the soup. It has chunks of beef tongue in it. I got through the soup, but left the tongue. As my son, so surprisingly told me (12 year old), "gee Dad, that soup was sorta like french kissing a cow". Wonder where he got that thought!

Don't let this little story scare you away, the food was awesome.

The way they mix them, you don't need more than one or two. :)

Ditto on La Chosita in Leesburg, excellent, and they are extremely resonable. Real authentic Mexican, Latin American food

Anita's is good -- nothing fancy, just good standard Mexican food. There's one in Chantilly (Rte. 50 & Centreville Road) and in downtown Herndon (on Centreville Road).

I have yet to find a really TOP restaurant in this area that serves great Mexican food. It's never hot or spicy enough for my tastes. :( I've been spoiled from eating the best in Arizona. I usually make my own rather than be disappointed time after time around here. We've tried them all. Del Rio isn't bad...but way too noisy!! Don Pablos is about the worst IMO....truly manufactured food.....

I have the same problem. I grew up in Arizona, so this stuff is pretty lame. I live for my trips back out west. I eat all the good mexican food I can.

I saw someone said they did not like the food at Casa Gonzalez in Leesburg. Its a family owned restaurant, and they will spice up to your heat level. I've always enjoyed eating there, and it is reasonably priced.

We tried Don Pablos this weekend and we were extremely happy with the food. And it was reasonably priced.
