I would be interested in having more LAN parties. That last one with Call of Duty was a blast despite technical difficulties of getting everyone setup (including me).

So what is involved with having more LAN parties? Is there a budget involved or is this mostl us gamers bringing the equipment to the table?

The tech committee put in for 4 of these per year in our budget.

I'm hoping that Star Wars Battlefront is out by our next one. That looks like it would be a great game to play!

Tribes was also released for a free download. (Edit: thought it was Tribes 2 that was released for free, it was the first Tribes) That could be kinda fun. Another we have not played that would be fun is the Medal of Honor series.

Next one we're shooting for 10 on 10! Thanks to all that came to this one, it was a blast. If you want to help plan the next one (and help with our other events) please consider joining the tech committee. We meet on the 2nd tuesday of each month at the community center at 7:30.

Anyone else addicted to Dark Age of Camelot? Been playing it since it came out and just can't get away from it. :p

Of course this is not a game for a LAN party, but unfortunately I stink at the FPS games. I have this tendency to blow myself up. :)

I used to play DAOC before I bought City of Heroes. After 3 weeks if dust collecting on DAOC I closed the account there and have not looked back. :p

Also there was a request some time back for a slower-paced game like Warcraft / Starcraft style but not many people responded for anything like that.

You like City of Heroes? I tried it, and just could not get into it. I need my RPG to be middle agey, lol. This week new Frontiers is coming out in DAOC, and I'm psyched. Supposedly it will kill most radar use, which will help my fun level tremendously.

I would be there for a slower paced game. I have not played Warcraft, but I will try out WoW when it comes out one of these years. :)

What is the budget for the LAN party? Pizza? :) I might do a lan party if I had a good lcd monitor... or maybe I can just use my projector at like 32" diagonal onto a wall =)

We supply pizza and some snacks and drinks. The rest for the budget is the expense for the center itself, which I'm not sure offhand what that is. People bring everything from 15" LCDs to big 21" monitors. Myself and a friend bought the same 17" MAG from Best Buy, and it's fantastic for games (16ms response time) and bringing to LAN parties.
