I guess Comcast is upgrading their service, which means I am not getting any emails from them ... for three days now. It would have been nice to get a tleast a warning about this, but that didn't happen either. I am quite ticked off about this whole thing. :angryfire:

Did you check your spam/junk folder? Maybe their spam filters went haywire and are causing a bunch of false positives?

Oh yes, sure did. No, they implemented a new webmail system and migrating users seems to take longer than expected. I am still without email. But I guess I am expected to still pay the exorbitant bill.

Marianne, might I make a suggestion? I usually tell people to never use their ISP's email service as their main email provider. In Comcast's case, that's not their 'core' service, so there's a greater chance for things to go wrong. The biggest issue in my view though is more about 'transportability' of your email address. You're almost guaranteed to eventually move away from Comcast one day. As such, you'll have to get a new email account, tell all your regular contacts about your email change, etc. For companies like Comcast, they use the 'free' email service as another way to 'lock' you into their services. So, say next summer you decide to move to FiOS, it would be a lot harder for you to do so, assuming the hassle it would be to change email address, tell all your friends etc.

Long story short, and it won't solve the issue you're having today, look at another more 'generic email service provider, such as GMail, Yahoo, etc. If you change internet service provider, your email address remains unaffected. Also, those services seem to be a lot more 'stable' than those offered by companies like Comcast, etc. It's a lot easier to switch over when time is on your side, and not during a period of transition between ISP's...

Well then, you probably missed the important email I got about having the same last name as the former Nigerian finance minister. I have to send some information, ssn, checking account routing information and other documents, but I will handle his affairs for his estate for quite a large sum. I stand to receive millions in compenstation....

When you get that money, will you remember all your neighbors that lost tens of thousands of dollars in the recent stockmarket crash? ;)
