I'm currently using an Ameriprise advisor for my financial planning. I'm happy with what he has set up for me so far, but I am not happy with him as an advisor. I have set up a number of funds and investments with Ameriprise and would ideally like to stay with them to avoid the hassle of completely starting over, just with a new person within Ameriprise. Any advice?

I'm within my 90 day satisfaction guaranteed period, so making a break from Ameriprise is an option as well.

I guess basically I'm looking for referrals here...Ameriprise or otherwise for a good financial advisor/planner.

I've been with him for going on 8 years now. He's terrific. Extremely knowledgeable as well. I know it's not someone from Ameriprise, but well worth the 'hassle' of starting over anew.

thanks for the replies...anyone else have any suggestions? i think i'm already out of the ameriprise system, so looks like we're open to anyone now. i may just trudge along with my SEP-IRA and wife's 401k for now...don't want to make the same mistake twice.
