Online Restaurant Health Dept. Inspection Results

    Here's an interesting website I stumbled across today, Many of you probably already have it bookmarked:

    It's a link to the Health Dept's Health Inspections. You can search for any restaurant in the county (as long as they've had an inspection) or look at lists of restaurants alphabetically.

    In general, most of the chinese places around here have some horrible inspections.

    Yah, I though so too. Luckily, most of the infractions are minor. I was unable to find anything really horrible like 'rodent in deep fryer' or 'cook washing hair in food prep sink'. :)

    Well, I will certainly never eat at Good Fortune again. They had 6 critical violations in May.

    Me and a couple co-workers found this site a few months ago and started checking out lots of the places we go/went for lunch in the Falls Church area. Bad idea. For a couple weeks, we rarely went out for lunch and ended up eating in our cafeteria...

    I have yet to find a place that has 'no' violations. Those that are perfectly clean tend to be high-end places that I'm normally not going to visit frequently. All in all, I just stopped going to this site because I wanted to enjoy eating out. I've eaten out easily over a thousand times and I have yet to get violently ill.

    We *did* find some pretty good hits during our searches though. Nothing that I'm going to post here; it was very gross stuff that normal people simply can't imagine [xx(]

    Here's a thought; after a day of work, do the food inspectors go out for dinner on occaison? :D

    The japanese places around here all seem to be pretty good, perhaps because they deal with raw fish and it's especially important. :)
