Does anyone know of a good open field where I could take my dog to play? She would be on a 30 ft. leash, so we won't be breaking the leash law. A lot of places I've looked, say no dogs allowed. She needs to run.
    Thanks for any help.

have you gone to the dog park in Reston? it's off of wiehle, first left past Baron Cameron if you come off of the toll road (left into wiehle, left into the park past Baron Cameron) they have a large dog and small dog side and my Jack Russell gets a great workout and social time there...

No, actually I haven't. I've been to the Herndon one, but my dog always comes home with torn pads after being there. Maybe I"ll try the Reston one once it cools down a little. Thanks for the suggestion.

Social time and workout???? I can only imagine:) ha ha ha

I would think a human would be arrested with the kind social time some dogs are having in the park;)

A larger space than the Reston DP is Quinn Farm. It typically has less dogs, and 3 times the runspace. Our hyper corgi goes ballistic when we take a trip out there.

There is also the Canine Country Club in Leesburg, but I have not tried that one yet.

The Canine Country Club in Leesburg is not open yet. They need to get 200 members before opening, and I think they have about 85. I've never heard of Quinn Farm. I'll give it a try. Thanks for the suggestion.

I have seen a dog park or farm on Evergreen Mills Road (from Ryan Rd. take a right...it's on the left). Not sure of the name, but it seems large, and the dogs there look like they're having fun.

Silly question - are you required to keep your dog on a leash when at a specific dog park?

I would like to know dog park ettiqute before I go.
    thanks!

The dog park in reston is an off leash park. It's just a fenced in area. You do have to make sure that your dog is registered with the county and that you have the registration tags for loudoun on your dogs collar.

Other than that it's pretty laid back. Obviously watch your dog and pick up any thing he/she may leave behind quickly. :)

The reston park will get your dog very dirty so we only take our dog the day he gets a bath :)

Really? I've never heard of this. Is it fenced? It would be so nice if there is actually one close by.

The country club for dogs is on Evergreen Mills...but you have to join. I love our dog, but there's no way we're paying for her to go to a country club...I have other priorities with how to spend my money..... :)
