Opus jewlery has been put on notice regarding this terrible sign several times. This will be taken down in the next few days b/c my final notice is being sent out to them. The rule states that if they don't abide I can go in and take it down myself. Either way this will be resolved.

That'll teach 'em to try and run a successful business around here! Who could that sign possibly have bothered? It faced the parking lot in a corner of the strip mall. Unreal.

I agree - I never even noticed it until someone here on the forums brought it up.

FWIW ... I don't know if its terrible or not, however, it violated the sign rules for the shopping center, as well as those for the Broadlands Commercial Owners Association.

Whether or not it was visible from the street, if you let one of these signs go without a correction, then you may start seeing those types of flashing signs from the street.

I thought about this the other day.. I swear that thing is back up to the super-bright setting.. but I didn't know if that was just me. I swore it looked brighter then it did previously

As far as I can remember, it doesn't flash, however, it is bright. The HOA did have it dimmed, but I never thought it was dimmed that much anyway.

I don't understand all the concern with signs on this forum. Who cares??? There are so many other important things to worry about.

I don't really care about the sign, but I am a firm believer that is someone says that they're going to do something, they do it.

I think the basic point (the correct focus) is that the sign standards are there for a reason and if this one is a violation, then take it down as you will have the problem of enforcement down the road or inconsistent enforcement issues.

Also (not to hijack the thread) but what about Opus Jewelry business practices, has any one else had a problem with this store? And yes, I have and I have already reported them... just curious.

I would like to hear the problem you had with them if not online then offline? I was thinking about taking a ring there for repair.

I sent a PM to hberg... maybe forward that to tyger31? I wanted to avoid re-typing the same message. But tyger31, feel free to send me a PM with questions...
