Anyone else notice the terrible paving on the sidewalk along claiborne just south of the Ridgeway intersection? I felt like I needed shock absorbers on the stroller. Any chance of this being redone correctly?

That area has not yet been prepped for VDOT turnover, as sidewalks fall in VDOT's purview, I suspect that they will be redone before turnover by the developer.

That's when the HOA gets responsibility for snow removal, and probably repair. Until that time, best get a stroller with good shock absorbers !!

Depends where the sidewalk is. VDOT is only responsible for the initial maintenance if it is in their right-of-way. If it isn't, they won't look at it. Almost all of the trails along the major roadways are out of the VDOT right-of-way.
This sidewalk is most likely still Van Metre's responsibility.

I re-read the original post. The way it first sounded, it didn't sound like a trail, but I guess the word 'paving' should have been a redflag. In that case, which side of the road is this on, east or west (or if looking from the Nature Center, left side or right side)??

Neil, I am going to assume it is the path on the same side as the Nature Center. We went down it the other day and a good 40ish yards of it (closer to Ridgeway) are very bumpy.
