I started the Creme de la Creme thread in hopes to promote feedback from parents on daycare/babysitting in the area. It was not my attention for it to get out of control. Please post only positive feedback and recommendations on daycare/and or babysitter that can be shared by all.

I think that negative comments can be addressed to people specifically not in the forum. Would appreciate it because I would like to keep this thread open.

With that said, I have heard very good things about Open Arms. Unfortunately the waitlist is very long (lucky for us we got on it early). This is where we are considering putting our daughter next summer.

I have heard nothing but wonderful things about Open Arms. I am sure that is why they have such a big waiting list.

Check out the childcare section of The Loudoun Easterner.

Has anyone heard of Little Learners Academy? It is located at 45135 Waterpointe Terrace near to George Washinton University. They have part-time rates and they have a staff ratio of 1/7 in the two year old room.

Anyone know what the tuition is? I read they have to determine the annual budget first but has anyone approach them about putting their kid in?

Thanks for the update concerned_mom, I'll go check it out. I'm curious what kind of damage they can do to the wallet.

Going by Reston's Boyd School - not cheap for sure. But I was not happy with their hours - unfortunately not realistic for those of us that work full time.

Hi everyone! I'm a new mom and new to the east coast. I'm currently in search of a daycare center for my 4-mth. old baby.

I would appreciate your feedback on Mulberry Child Care & Preschool (at Golden Meadow Circle, Ashburn). I've called and toured a lot of daycare centers in the area and I'm not particularly interested in a class with more than 8 infants.

Pls. help me find a good daycare center. It would be great if someone who has their infant currently enrolled at Mulberry could me their feedback.

    Thanks :)

I hate to use the name Children's World again but I'm very interested to see if parents have noticed a difference since the "fiasco" a couple months ago. Parents who take their children to the Broadlands center, what are your thoughts? I'm considering registering my 17 month old for part-time care.

I'd also love to hear what people have to say about Kindercare in Ashburn Village and Mulberry on Railstop Road in Ashburn Farms.

If anyone has other suggestions of centers or homecare please share them. I'm particularly interested in daycares that offer a part-time schedule along with full-time. I've looked in the papers for at home care but that's like trying to find a needle in a haystack. I'm leaning towards centers because they seem to have an actual structure and I'm not sure if homecare would do the same.

Please, no hate messages about centers. Just facts. And if there is something negative to say, email me directly, don't post it on this site. jcobean@yahoo.com

    Thanks!
    Jen

Our daughter has been attending Kindercare in Ashburn Village since the end of August and we have been very pleased. She is very happy and we never have to fight with her to go to school. The staff are friendly and caring. So far, they have had at least one event each month for a family fun evening (back to school party, pizza party). I would have no qualms about recommending Kindercare.

I'd like to ask again if anyone has noticed a difference (better/worse) with Children's World in Broadlands?

I don't know about Children's World but we went with Open Arms, forunately I put our child on that wait list when house was under construction. We have been very happy with her there, and she seems to really like it which is a big plus.

I heard a new private school was going in somewhere over by home depot anyone know about this?

Also in the Broadlands newsletter that just went out there was something in there under the HOA meeting about a Day Care Resolution - what was that about?

I do not know what Children's World was like before, but our daughter started there in April and we have been very happy. I have talked to ther parents who have been there for a long time who said that things have gotten alot better.

Hberg: BeanTree Learning will be located off of 267 at exit 6, between 267 and the Home Depot. It is the huge building going up off exit 6 that can be seen from the Toll road. They have a web page: www.beantreelearning.com .

My contact person at BeanTree is Matti Valdivia - phone number is the same as what's on their website, 571-233-3110. Her email address is mvaldivia at beantreelearning dot com.

Yep totally. I got it this weekend and had to chuckle.

Granted they DO include diapers, wipes & cream which most places don't and they ARE open until 7pm, but that does not justify the additional $200 PER WEEK from what I pay now.

Too bad they aren't a bit more reasonable, it sure is more convenient to where we go now.

Is that $200/week for an infant room? That's a little out there.

Can you post any of the other rates? Thanks

HA! It's about $400 per week in an infant room. I pay $200 per week for my toddler and that was one of the cheapest rates around. I love her place, I was just hoping this one would be the same or not terribly more expensive since it's closer and right on my way to work.

Again, they will provide diapers & such which I've never heard of. That can add up but still. I'm sure they have a lot of really good pros (heard great things of creme de la creme too but they're similarly priced) but my major con is the price.
