Recommendation for Taxi Company

Does anyone know of a reliable taxi company that accepts reservations? I have to be at Dulles Airport at 6:00 on a Saturday morning. I'd prefer not to take my chances by waiting until that morning to call.

Without a doubt the most reliable, prove service comes from Dulles Taxi. (not the Dulles taxi available from the airport) These guys usually drive black volvos, or minivans.

I've used them for years, you can call the night before to schedule pick-up. I've done it dozens of times, and they have never failed me. Always punctual, regardless of the time of your pick-up. I've got their number memorized 703-481-8181.

 

What was the cost to the airport - do you remember?

 

Thanks for the suggestions. I was hoping for an alternative to Dulles Flyer since they were less than helpful when I called for this information. It sounds like Dulles Taxi might be my best bet. Ideally, I'd like to call the night before and be assure they'll show up at 6:00 on a Saturday morning.

 

Another option is Iona Sedan car service out of Reston. I know the owner and he is very professional and ON TIME!!! (you can prearrange pick up instead of waiting until the morning of your trip.)

Trip from Ashburn to Dulles is about $20 with tip. You can call the night before and arrange pick up.

 

I took afgm's suggestion and used Dulles Taxi. I called the night before and made a reservation for 5:30 in the morning. The cab arrived about 5:20. Success!

 

I had an extremely bad experience with Yellow Cab. I spent literally 20 minutes trying to help the phone answerer spell the name of my street, explain that yes this street has been here a while and should be in their system, spell it again, correct her again, etc etc, then find out that she would then translate it over to a dispatcher (I thought she was the dispatcher), and THEN she told me it would take at least 40 minutes to get a cab over. I hung up, called Washington Flyer, and was at the airport 20 minutes later. I will never call Yellow Cab again, and just wanted to share my experience!

 

Keep using Dulles Taxi-703-481-8181. Have been using them since I moved here in March 2003. They are always dependable. Always on time-usually about 5-10 min before your request. I always call the night before.

 

I've used Dulles Taxi (703 481 8181) during my times in this region throughout the years and they have always been dependable whether calling in advance or calling with little notice of pick up as well. In addition to trips to Dulles airport, I've used them for trips to Reagan National as well as Union Station. They're prompt, reliable and very comfortable.

 

I used to use American Sedan (Limo) company. They cost just as much as a taxi, but they picked you up on your return trip also so you never had to worry about it. They carried your bags, helped you in anyway you needed, etc. They were great!! If you use them often enough you get discounts on their service.

 

I also wholeheartedly endorse Dulles Taxi -- they are prompt, courteous and reliable. I wish they had other choices getting back here from Dulles -- Washington Flyer leaves a lot to be desired, especially if there are a lot of people waithing for a cab at the airport.
