Renovation tips for an Engle Townhome?

    I'm wondering if anyone can share what they have learned working on one of these structures. After tearing up a carpet I noticed the floor joists are inconsistently spaced out. Some 19", others as far as 24". The subfloor seems like it is a single layer of 3/4" OSB. Has anyone tried laying a solid hardwood floor over this mess? I anticipate plenty more surprises down the road.
