Ridgewater Rezoning

A proposed amendment to the county's comprehensive plan could lead to 2,000 houses built near the Goose Creek reservoir, creating a potential hazard to our supply of drinking water. A flyer put together by Ashburn Citizens United provides some useful information about it.

There will be a public hearing on February 15, 2007, 6:30 p.m., in the government center in Leesburg. I hope all interested residents of our community will come and consider speaking against this amendment.

I agree that this water shed should be protected and a major buffer at the very least including some kind of systems to keep the chemicals out of the watershed and creek from any development that does occur.

A wilderness park at least along the creek would be very nice
