We stopped in for a coffee one afternoon but were too full to try any of the baked offerings. Met SAM, the owner and head pastry chef -- seemed like a very nice fellow, and takes great pride in his offerings.

Sam makes all the cakes and pastries that are showcased. Keep that in mind when you look at the price tag.

They also offer some sandwiches and gelato. My husband enjoyed his coffee.

Check it out some time. I know we're looking forward to trying some of his cakes sometime soon.

a croissant as big and fluffy as the one I got today is worth $2.50! I also tried Sam's danish and wow- it is really high quality stuff. you can really taste the difference in fresh baked goods over fresh delivered. and he makes a mean latte- if you like to taste COFFEE in your coffee- you should pay Rumi Cafe a visit.

My neighbor and I stopped by there today after reading your post. I have to agree - fresh baked goods we sampled were fantastic, as well as the latte. Thumbs up!!

Sam;s running a promo- FREE SLICE OF CAKE WHEN YOU ORDER LUNCH! I was there this morning as some pastry was coming out of the oven... unbelievably gorgeous food. this is great- a non chain option for a cake for a special event. the pastries are very European in style- not overly sweet, fresh ingredients- i can tell you with 100% assurance that there is NO cream cheese in their cheese danish- oh it's awesome.

getting one of his cakes for my husband's birthday- i'll deliver a report her and oh, possibly elswhere...

Tried Cafe Rumi this weekend - only a latte and a bagel, but I liked the place. Sam was very nice, the coffee was great - I will definitely be back. I like the idea of supporting a locally owned bakery/coffee shop rather than Starbucks (not that I don't like Starbucks, but we don't need one on every corner).

Do they make desserts, too? Is it THAT type of bakery? Or is it just breakfast-type pastries? I was looking for a place to go this weekend to buy a few different desserts to sample and ended up at Wegmans because I didn't know where else to go.

it is THAT kind of bakery! i got 3 individual cakes for my hubby's bday b/c i couldn't make up my mind- and they were all 3 original an delicious- lemon mango with white cake, blackberry mousse with cassis, and a chocolate chocloately chocoloate chocolate thing that was simply to light and flavorful not to be rich. really special stuff- i am truly impressed.

ya'll- i am sitting here, eyes rolled back in my head while i eat my free cake from Cafe Rumi- chocolate delight. UNREAL how delicious it is- not heavy at ALL. and FREE. they are supplying cakes to Silk Road in Lansdowne as well.

i just ate a fab tuna sandwich with brie from there as well. nothing can replace a puccio's sub, but if you want another good sandwich- check them out for lunch. i am a happy camper right now...

    Let em eat cake!

Do they have cakes there and ready to go or do they need to be special ordered?

    Thanks!

Went for lunch today. Had a wonderful turkey sandwich with side salad and my slice of heavenly chocolate cake. All was perfect :)
Thanks for placing this info on the website - I would have passed it up otherwise!
