Scouting for Food November 8

    Scouting for Food is coming November 8! When you see sales on nonperishable food items, why not pick up a few extras to stock up for hungry families in Loudoun County?

    Around November 1, Cub Scouts will leave a grocery bag on front doors of homes throughout Broadlands. On November 8 they'll be back to pick up the food. Please leave your donations outside your door by 9am on November 8!

    Preferably no glass containers. Thanks to all of you who participate!

    This is a really worthwhile effort, especially this year when more people are requesting support from the food bank. Over the past five years, Broadlands residents have been among the most generous in supporting Scouting for Food. Please support us again this year.

    Just a note tho - if you go grocery shopping that morning - do not leave your groceries out of the front porch while you run inside to "catch the phone."

    No reason, just sayin'. :whistle:

    Envisioning camouflaged cub scout commandos in the bushes waiting for careless citizens that leave their groceries unattended.....

    By now the houses in Broadlands should have all received their grocery bags from the scouts. They were tied to front door handles some time after Saturday morning. If you did not get one but usually do, it may have blown away. You can put donations out in any kind of a bag - by 9am on Saturday Nov. 8. If you have any questions about Scouting for Food, let me know!

    Thank you Broadlands!

    Cub Scout Pack 1483 collected 5,650 pounds of food last weekend, thanks to your generosity.

    The entire Goose Creek District set a record... Pack 1483 was part of an effort that collected a total of 108,281 pounds of food for Loudoun Interfaith Relief, LINK, Community Holiday Coalition, and Messiah's Market. This will feed an estimated 2400 families that include over 10,000 children. This is an amazing effort by all involved.
